Spinnaker on a 32?
« on: August 29, 2007, 02:51:33 PM »
We are thinking of adding a chute to our 32. Does anyone have any experience with this boat with  a chute? does anyone know the dimensions of he sail, or even better have one for sale?
Thanks,
Pat

Patt,   Have you thought about a DRS?  My boat came with one and while I don't know a lot about spinnakers the DRS has come in quite handy.

We just bought a radial head drifter from Lee Sails and while we're hardly experts, it seems very well made.  It came completely rigged with a nice bag, a dousing sock, parrel beads and all the hardware.  We only needed to add the sheets and downhaul lines.  It works great and we're very happy with it.

If I recall correctly, they had the measurements already.  If you're concerned, you should certainly measure yourself, as boats do vary, even production boats.

Also nice was that their price was just over half the other two quotes I got -- about CDN$1800.

If it's a true spinnaker (symmetrical sail), I am willing to part with mine.  It's a nice sail to have in an inventory, but I have greater needs right now.  Please email me (smith-lh@comcast.net) if you're interested.
