I wonder if this is the only photo in existence of an Aloha 32 in
Bermuda?
This photo was taken in early
June on my way back to the east coast (PEI) from a winter in the
Bahamas. I sailed from St. Augustine, Florida to St.
Georges a rhumb line distance of 880 nautical miles. The trip
was rough but the boat handled very well. After 2 weeks in Bermuda
I headed for Halifax. Bad weather in the Gulf Stream forced a
detour to Cape Cod and Provincetown before heading across the
Gulf of Maine to Nova Scotia.
I had a wonderful year of
sailing down the east coast, the ICW, Florida, Bahamas etc.
Although I experienced lots of bad weather I arrived back in my home
marina in Charlottetown without a scratch on the boat but more than
500 more hours on the engine. Sadly, Be Faithful 2 was still in
the water when Hurricane Juan hit on September 29, 2003.
The hull was badly scratched and gouged but did not sustain any
structural damage. The end result being, Be Faithful 2 is
no longer red but a deep, Imron blue!
