Installing a Mermaid Marine
reverse cycle air conditioning unit
|
François Matte sent the
details and photos below of this unit which he installed on his Aloha 8.2 around
2000. Now having 5 years experience with the unit he notes:
- His is a 12,000 btu unit, but he now
believes a 9,000 btu would be better for this size of boat
- The original pump was a Teal 450 GPH
and was not well suited to the unit. After it failed it was replaced under
warranty with a March 500GPH which has proved satisfactory.
- He replaced the original manual select
LUX511 thermostat with a Canadian made Aube brand TH141A-HC-28
thermostat which automatically switches between the heating and cooling
mode.
- He is very pleased with
the customer service of Mermaid Marine Air (see their website)
