Some
sound advice from Ross Dickson about engine removal which I came across recently
when looking through the Aloha List Archives:
-
No
matter how much you think you will remember where everything goes, you
won't!
-
Take
plenty of pictures from all angles before you start.
-
Get
a bunch of address tags with strings from an office supplies outlet and
label everything - every connection, every bolt, nut....... you get
the picture.
-
Make
sure you have a plan for pulling the engine and access to some strong
helpers to pull it up and out into the main salon on some sort of crib.
-
Find
someone who has overhauled the same kind of engine and can give you some
feedback as to problems you may encounter, and how to avoid them.
-
Finally,
get a shop manual. You may be able to download one from the Manuals
Page of this site, but even if you have to buy one they are well worth
the price.
-
To
this, I would just add to be sure you have a source of supply of the parts
you will need to complete whatever reconditioning is likely to be needed.
