Names Explained

II Chez - John & Anne Pike

When we sat down to conjure up yet another name, I explained we needed something short and identifiable for the VHF. Being financially practical, I also didn't want a long name at $100 per letter!

Anne suggested "Touché". I agreed, but not being one to leave things as they are, I came back with "II Chez". (Using the Roman numeral for "2" and the French for "home"). This works on a couple of levels, because when I had the decals made, the letters were all within the boundary lines of the shape of a house, with the peak at the top of the "C". When people ask, I say it's pronounced, "Touché", but I have it in the shape of a house because it is our "second (II), home (Chez)".
