Names Explained

Harmony - Alison Booz

When I was shopping for a boat, I figured I probably would not like the name of whatever boat I found.  So, I decided I would either name it something Scottish or something musical. Something Scottish because I enjoy all things Scottish, especially Scottish Country Dancing (a form of ballroom dancing, that involves 4 couples dancing together). Something musical because I work for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and enjoy music.

Well, I found my boat, and she was already named Harmony. Apparently the original owner owned 3 boats as investments, all with musical names because he enjoyed music. When this gent found out I was a single woman and that I worked for the TSO, he immediately accepted my offer and told the broker that he wanted me to have his boat! I briefly considered a name change, but that didn't last long as I realized I liked the name. It nicely describes sailing and the relationship between wind, water, boat and those who sail her.
