Topic: Aloha 28 shroud dimensions

Hi all,

I’m replacing the standing rigging for my aloha 28 during the hurricane season. To the best of my knowledge this rigging is the original from 1979.

I took a set of calipers to the rig and the cap shrouds (highest intermediates) are 3/16 inch and the backstay as well.

While the lower aft and forward intermediates are 1/8 inch.

I couldn’t measure the forestay because of the furler, but I suspect 3/16.

I’m hoping other aloha 28 owners could share their dimensions before I go off ordering shrouds.

I prefer to measure the actual shrouds that get removed from the boat, rather than having new ones made up to factory specified dimensions, or dimensions from a sister ship.  You never know when a mast repair or modification may have been made in the past, that might have caused a change in dimensions.
