Boat Bucks
« on: April 16, 2015, 07:25:22 PM »
When I was a teenager in the fifties a boat buck was a buck. When I left sailing in the eighties a boat buck was a hundred dollars. Now,
when I am returning to the sport, a boat buck is about a thousand dollars. I only wish my income had matched that rate of increase!

Considering that in early frontier days, a buck was the amount received for a deer hide at the trading post the value of "bucks" has certainly changed.   Personally, I like the more recent term, " Looney", as it better captures the spirit of our times.   Bruce
