Topic: Penta MD5 - Fuel Filter

I have a 1979 Penta MD5 and I am attempting to change the primary fuel filter mounted on the engine.  When looking up this part number, I get an old part number 870065 and a new part number 876554.  The dimension of the suggested fuel filter is 60mm length and 73mm diameter.  My existing filter is 55mm length and 65mm diameter.  I have also tried after market parts such as Fleetguard ff230 and its dimensions are 62mm length and 70mm diameter.  I have attached a photo.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Problem solved.  The filter that I removed (photo) had separated and the top ring was stuck inside the motor base.  Once removed, the new filter fit perfectly.
