Repowering an Aloha 34
« on: November 13, 2019, 03:50:18 PM »
Hi. I still have the original Universal 5424 in my boat. I don't have any idea of how many hours it has on it, no meter, but it is getting pretty long in the tooth and I am thinking of repowering before I retire. It still starts fine but is lacking in power and is sooting up my transom.

What size and brand of motors have people repowered their Aloha 34's with?  I am looking at the possibly going with a Beta 30.

Thoughts?

Steve

Seems like a good choice, and probably what I would do when the time comes. I have an original 5424 as well, 2500hrs, and fingers xxed, still going strong.

I have a Volvo Penta 2003 (28hp I think).
