Aloha 28 “POLARIS”
Great traditional and comfortable cruiser! This boat has a great layout both above decks and below that maximizes space, storage, and comfort. The Aloha provides many “big boat” features and abilities in a 28 footer, at a 28 footer price. This is a popular model in excellent condition. Well cared for by one owner for the last 25 years. Anything and everything has been repaired when it needs to be repaired. It has been cleaned and serviced regularly. Other life commitments dictate the sale.
The classic hull design by Ted Brewer with its maximum beam and length at the waterline makes brilliant use of 28 feet. The cockpit is large and the interior is beamy and roomy. The fin keel, skeg well aft and outboard rudder provide great tracking and stability. Wide side decks and roomy cockpit lockers create both safety and ease of use. This boat is a fast fin keeled sloop with an excellent interior for those more interested in a comfortable cruiser.
The roomy cockpit is ideal for lounging at anchor and a dry and roomy location while sailing. Two 2 speed winches handle the 150% Genoa, a 100% jib and a cruising spinnaker, with ease. The mainsheet is nicely mounted aft clear of the cockpit area. Two halyard winches are located on the mast. The deck stepped mast has internal halyards. A boom vang handles the boom which is well clear of the cockpit
Down below, six opening, screened ports, and two large windows bring in light and lots of fresh air. There is standing headroom throughout and the ability to sleep at total of 5. There is a large ice box, lots of dish storage, a two burner alcohol stove complete with oven, a sink complete with hot and cold pressure water, or a foot pump for freshwater, from two tanks totalling approx. 40 gallons. Generous counter space makes meal preparation easy. A total of 6 easily accessible lockers complete with louvered doors provide more than enough storage, but there are still 8 more lockers behind and below the setee, as well as two drawers one on each side. The kerosene heater keeps everything cozy on those off days. Lavish use of teak in the interior provides a warm, cozy and rich environment.
The V berth (one of the largest on any boat of similar size) and head are private, with a large skylight hatch in the V berth. Two separate locker areas, one hanging and one with shelves provide enormous amounts of storage. There are 8 additional lockers in the V berth area, as well as 2 drawers. Yet another locker is located at the very bow end of the V berth.
Engine access behind the companionway stairs and from either cockpit locker is exceptional. The built in battery charger, dual batteries and 110 volt system provide ease of use at anchor or at the dock.
The vessel comes complete with a full set of owner’s manuals and information for the boat, the engine, and all equipment on board.
